Suliman with Loki
“I am truly grateful for the outstanding assistance provided by Michael in training my Australian Shepherd, Loki.
Being a first-time dog owner and raising a breed as challenging as an Australian Shepherd, I felt overwhelmed with the responsibility of ensuring Loki's proper training and development.
Thankfully, I discovered Michael, whose expertise was invaluable throughout the training process. He took the time to truly understand Loki's unique characteristics and temperament, tailoring the training plans to address his needs.
What set Michael apart was his ongoing support beyond the training sessions, providing valuable insights on consistency, reinforcing positive behaviors, and effectively troubleshooting any issues that arose. Thanks to Michael's dedication, Loki has transformed into a well-behaved companion - as well-behaved as an Aussie can be!
I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking a skilled and, most importantly, compassionate dog trainer.”

“Michael has been an enormous help for us as we care for our rescue puppy, walking us through the initial weeks and months of training with patience, kindness and empathy.
We always trust him to give us clear and honest feedback, and believe he is making us better dog guardians for the long haul.”

“Michael has been working with me and my dog Aloe for a year. He always takes a lot of time for our individual issues and has taught me over time not only how to train with Aloe, but how to understand her.
Michael is not only a great person but also an equally great trainer and I can only recommend anyone to work with him!”

“When we turned to Michael, we had no major issues with our dog’s behavior: Frodo was fine overall. But there were a few behaviors that left us clueless, like when his hunting urge kicked in at dusk, sudden snapping for no obvious reason and unpredictable barking on the leash.
From the very first second Michael clicked with our dog and they had a beautiful dynamic. Instead of working too much with Frodo, he rather helped us understand what’s behind these strange behaviors and how to manage them.
We saw immediate improvement from the very first lesson on. Our relationship with our dog grew stronger with every visit from Michael and we got better at meeting Frodo’s needs.
Michael is a well qualified trainer who is fair all the way: from his pricing model to how he trains dogs without overly authoritative punishment methods and rather helps owners to gain better understanding.
We would recommend Michael as a dog coach to anyone!”

“Arriving in Berlin with two dogs from half across the world was no easy fit. Thinking about how to integrate two Latin American dogs into the German culture seemed even more overwhelming. Enter Michael into the scene.
Michael helped us deepen the connection with our dogs to be able to understand their needs in their new environment. We worked on helping them feel relaxed at home, how to act in a new context outdoors and with other dogs.
His methods and patience were key to accomplish our goal of having two happy Mexican dogs living in Berlin.
We are forever grateful to Michael and continue to recommend him every time we get a chance.”

“Michael is exactly what I look for in a dog trainer, for many reasons.
Firstly, from my perspective as a neuroscientist, he has such a deep understanding of the origin of behavior and therefore knows where to intervene and to support.
Secondly, he focuses on rewarding the dog’s responses that lead to the desired behavior (positive reinforcement), not only from a human perspective but also taking into account the dog’s individual needs.
Thirdly, he shares all of his knowledge and helps his clients to truly understand their dogs and handle them in the right, enriching way.
Also, I feel that Michael has the intrinsic motivation to support not just humans but also dogs to live a good life together. I honestly recommend working with him.
Thanks so much, Michael!”

“Michael has been extremely helpful to us for better understanding how Paco behaves and building our training skills.
It was especially interesting to learn from his approach based in dog psychology.
It made us see the practices beyond the tasks but also what the key aspects were that shaped our Paco’s behavior and what we could do to help him.”

“When I adopted a rescue dog in January 2021, I knew I was taking a leap and I was in for a big challenge. But the dog I got was way more than I bargained for, and, frankly, I had no clue what I was doing.
Rudolf was and is a loving, clever, charming, 5(?)-year-old Romanian mutt. But he also had to overcome an extreme abuse history, dog-aggressiveness, and separation anxiety so bad I couldn’t leave him alone at all for 6 months.
Michael came into our lives and made all the difference. His philosophy, skill set, empathy for dogs and humans alike, and sometimes a bit of tough love and no-bullshit straight-talk, was exactly the combination we needed.
Rudolf goes on the subway, buses, and long-distance trains; he stays home happily on his own; he has dog friends of all types, and he is getting better every day at choosing to calmly disengage from the dogs he doesn’t like.
Neither of us is perfect and he will always require management (there are no miracle fixes!), but after 6 months of twice-weekly training, and implementing Michael’s guidance every day between and since those training sessions, we’re both relaxed, enjoying our lives together, and we communicate like champs. And what’s more, it keeps getting better.
I’ve recommended Michael to so many friends and family, and they know from seeing how Rudolf and I have both changed that they are in good hands. Thank you, Michael!”
